com:pact - building safe, sustainable communities
com:pact is a new joint venture company, established to bid for Unpaid Work / Community Payback contracts on behalf of the Ministry of Justice, under the National Framework.

com:pact brings together A4e and MITIE, two of the UK’s leading public services providers. Between them, MITIE and A4e have more than 30 years’ experience of delivering large-scale Government and corporate outsourcing contracts.

What’s more, com:pact will also strive to reduce re-offending, working closely with offenders to assess their needs and working with local and voluntary sector partners to address the issues that are contributing to their offending behaviour.

We understand that crime cannot go unpunished and we will work hard to ensure local communities benefit directly from Community Payback placements

Community Payback requires intensive supervision and so is a great opportunity to teach offenders new skills, thereby giving them the tools they need to leave the criminal justice system for good. The rate of reoffending following a short custodial sentence is 65.9 per cent but is just 36.1 per cent following a community sentence
com:pact brings together the skills of two leading public services businesses and will ensure Community Payback serves both the local community and our wider society for the short and long-term
